DJI AP100 Parachute for Matrice 400 [1] enables C5/UK5 and C6/UK6 operations [2]. It features independent power and full-link redundancy, supporting both manual and automatic deployment. With a response time under 600 ms [3] and a descent rate below 5 m/s [4], it helps protect your platform, payloads, and the ground below**.

EASA C5/C6 [2] | CAA UK5/UK6 [2]

When paired with DJI AP100 Parachute, Matrice 400 [1] meets the European Union Aviation Safety Agency's (EASA) C5/C6 and the UK Civil Aviation Authority's (CAA) UK5/UK6 operational safety requirements [2]. It facilitates compliance for Standard Scenarios, including flights over populated urban areas (STS-01) and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations (STS-02) [5].

Continuous Self-Diagnostics

From the moment Matrice 400 powers on and throughout the entire flight, the parachute continuously monitors the status of the gas generator and communication links. If an anomaly occurs, real-time alerts are displayed via the Health Management System (HMS) in the DJI Pilot 2, ensuring safe operation.

Intelligent Algorithms, Redundancy Validation

Equipped with an independent flight control system and sensors like IMU, the parachute functions as a self-contained safety module. Intelligent algorithms continuously cross-validate data between the drone and the parachute in real time, significantly reducing the risk of accidental deployment.

Independent Power

Built-in dual capacitors provide up to 1 hour of independent backup power [6]. This helps ensure uninterrupted flight attitude monitoring and automatic deployment, without relying on main aircraft power or an active E-Port connection.

Instant Motor Cut-Off

When triggered, an independent Flight Termination System (FTS) cuts motor power within 600 ms [3], stopping the rotors before parachute ejection to prevent entanglement.

Audio and Visual Alarms

After deployment, the system continuously emits loud alarms and high-intensity flashing lights for approximately 1 hour [6]. This warns people on the ground to clear the area and helps operators quickly locate and recover the equipment.

Fast Deployment, Reduced Impact

Automatic Deployment Response Time ≤ 600 ms [3] | Stabilized Descent Speed ≤ 5 m/s [4] at Deployment Altitude ≥ 30 m [7]

Automatically deploys when it detects flight attitude or speed anomalies [7]. In the EU, UK, and other supported countries or regions, it also triggers when the drone breaches a Geocaging [8] boundary set in the DJI Pilot 2.

Trigger deployment with the on-screen slider in the DJI Pilot 2. In the EU, UK, and other supported countries or regions, remote deployment is also available through DJI FlightHub 2's Flight Termination System (FTS) page [9] using the Aircraft SN and a verification code (DJI Cellular Dongle 2 [10] and 4G required).

Lightweight, Fits Drone Case

Weighing approx. 935 g, the system preserves Matrice 400's 15.8kg maximum takeoff weight, with a minimal flight time impact of about 6 minutes [11]

The rear-mounted design avoids interference with battery swaps or payloads. Matrice 400 fits directly into its carrying case with the parachute attached, saving setup time in the field**

Built for Harsh Environments

Sharing Matrice 400's IP55 rating [12], the system operates reliably in challenging conditions, including heavy dust or rain. It also maintains stable performance across temperatures from -20° to 50° C (-4° to 122° F), delivering consistent results in both hot and cold conditions.

* All product images and videos on this page are for reference only. Actual product appearance may vary.
** When operating DJI Matrice 400 with the parachute, the gimbal safety tether must be securely attached to the Gimbal Connector. For details, refer to the FAQ page on the official DJI AP100 Parachute website.
1. To ensure unobstructed parachute deployment and prevent false obstacle sensing triggers, DJI Matrice 400 will automatically disable its downward and backward mmWave radars once DJI AP100 Parachute is mounted. Consequently, the drone platform's ability to sense small obstacles in these directions will be limited. Please pay attention to the flight environment and manually avoid obstacles to ensure flight safety. The mmWave radar function may be unavailable or restricted in some countries or regions. Refer to local laws and regulations for more information.
2. Mounting DJI AP100 Parachute on an existing Matrice 400 meets C5 or UK5 operational safety requirements (applicable for STS-01). To meet C6 or UK6 requirements (applicable for STS-02), users must purchase the DJI Matrice 400 (C6) Worry-Free Plus Combo. Under applicable regulations, the C6 or UK6 Class label applies only to factory-certified systems and cannot be obtained by mounting a parachute onto an existing aircraft.
3. Measured in a controlled laboratory environment. With DJI Matrice 400 hovering and propellers spinning, this is the total time interval recorded from the triggering of the Flight Termination System (FTS) signal, through the confirmation of a complete rotor stop, to the triggering of the gas generator's electrical signal. Data is for reference only. Actual experience may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
4. Measured in a windless environment at 25° C (77° F), at an altitude between 30 m and 500 m, with DJI Matrice 400 taking off at the max takeoff weight of 15.8 kg. Data is for reference only. Actual experience may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
5. According to European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations, the European Standard Scenario (STS) is a predefined operation. An operator is not required to obtain an operational authorisation to conduct an operation covered by a STS. So it should be first checked if the operation can be accommodated under an STS. If it is so, then submitting a declaration to the NAA of the state of registration is sufficient. STS-01 (corresponding to C5/UK5 class) applies to Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) operations over a controlled ground area in a populated environment. As an accessory kit containing a Flight Termination System (FTS), DJI AP100 Parachute enables the designated aircraft to meet C5/UK5 requirements. STS-02 (corresponding to C6/UK6 class) applies to Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations with Airspace Observers over a controlled ground area. The above is a brief guide. For full details, please refer to the official EASA website.
6. Measured at 25° C (77° F) with the parachute in its factory state, or when the parachute is connected to the aircraft for over 30 minutes of flight time each month. Data is for reference only. Actual experience may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
7. a. The minimum effective deployment altitude of DJI AP100 Parachute is 30 m (the minimum vertical altitude required for the parachute to stabilize the aircraft's descent below 5 m/s). If deployed below 30 m, the parachute will still eject, but may not fully inflate to adequately slow the descent. The parachute will not deploy when the aircraft has not taken off.
b. The 30 m data was measured in a windless environment at 25° C (77° F), at an altitude below 500 m, with DJI Matrice 400 taking off at the max takeoff weight of 15.8 kg. Data is for reference only. Actual experience may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
c. The parachute will automatically deploy upon detecting abnormal aircraft attitude or speed. However, to mitigate the risk of damage to nearby equipment or property caused by close-range deployment, the automatic deployment will be disabled under either of the following conditions:
· The aircraft is within a 10m radius of the Home Point, and its relative altitude is within 15 m above or below the Home Point.
· With Cleaning Mode enabled, the aircraft is within a 10m radius of the Home Point, and its relative altitude is within 15 m above the Home Point.
8. Geocaging is supported in the following countries and regions: EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden), the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Serbia, and Georgia.
9. FTS Deployment via DJI FlightHub 2 is supported in the following countries and regions: EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden), the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Serbia, and Georgia. For the Flight Termination System (FTS) interface, visit: https://fh.dji.com/fts/index.html#/.
10. DJI Matrice 400 supports the installation of two DJI Cellular Dongle 2 units. If only one dongle is used, install it in the 4G-1 compartment to ensure normal 4G functionality. The 4G Enhanced Transmission service is not available in certain countries or regions. Consult your local dealer for details.
11. Measured with the aircraft flying forward at a constant speed of 10 m/s in a windless environment at sea level, carrying the H30T and AP100 Parachute (total weight 11,605 g), until a forced landing due to battery depletion. Data is for reference only. Actual experience may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
12. Please follow the requirements stated in the IP55 protection rating instructions. Measured in a controlled environment. The IP rating is not permanently effective and may decrease due to product wear and tear.
